1. Who is best suited to participate in the San Fernando Valley Lacrosse League?
The SFVLL is for all boys and girls ages 7-18, who wish to train to play lacrosse. The program tailors its sessions to beginning and intermediate players. Teams are divided by age and ability with the emphasis placed on learning the skills and techniques of the game.

  2. What should my son or daughter bring to practice?
You will receive a SFVLL Information packet at the Parent Meeting after you register. A list of required items will be in the packet. Each player should bring all his/her own personal lacrosse equipment, along with shorts, socks, and cleats. Equipment will not be provided by the league. A team uniform and league t-shirt will be supplied by the league.  Other suggested items will be listed in the Information packet.
  3. Where do I get equipment for my child? You may purchase all equipment from LAXStore. Full sets cost about $200.  Their address is 5320 Derry Ave. Suite K, Agoura Hills, CA 91301.  They will be able to help get everything you need.  Do not go to Big 5, Sports Chalet, or Sports Authority.  Not only are they overpriced, they won't carry all the necessary equipment in stock.
  4. I'm not sure if my child will like lacrosse, is there equipment I can RENT for their first try?  Yes, equipment can be rented from LAXStore.  However, you must register first and bring your printed receipt when going to rent.  Please remember that sizes are on a first come first serve basis.
  5. Do you have a multiple child discount?
Because our league is priced as low as possible we do not offer a multiple child discount.

  6. Who are your coaches and what are their qualifications?
SFVLL recruits highly motivated individuals who have demonstrated an exceptional ability to communicate the game of lacrosse to student players. All coaches have participated in lacrosse either at the high school or college level.

  7. Are there special guest coaches?
Yes, the SFVLL has friends and supporters that are College coaches and/or professional players in the MLL (Major League Lacrosse).  These guests will come at specially assigned practices.

  8. What is your refund policy?
Because we have limited space available, there are no refunds after the season begins.

  9. May we contact you by phone?  The league contact phone is (818) 809-9575.

  10. Am I allowed to visit the practice?
Yes. Parents are always welcome at any SFVLL event, especially practices and games! We love to have spectators on the side lines. So cheer loud!

  11. Do you offer personal coaching?
Lacrosse is a team sport but sometimes individual training can be very helpful. When time allows we make an effort to work one on one with players.

  12. Where will practices be held?
Practices and home games will be held at Northridge Park in Northridge, CA. They will take place on the baseball field on the East end of the park. The address is: 18300 Lemarsh St. , Northridge, CA 91324.

  13. How often do the players practice?
Practice is held three days a week, every Monday, Wednesday, and Thurday.

  14. What is the ratio of staff to players?
The ratio for coaches to players is 1-12.  More times than not SFVLL is over staffed by that account.

  15. How long are the practice sessions?
Sessions are run in the evening. A session lasts approximately two hours, usually from 4pm to 6pm.
  16. My son or daughter has just graduated the 8th grade but would like to play.  Can they still participate?  Yes, they can play either middle school or high school.  They can join our 7th & 8th grade division as long as they are still 14.  Players older than 14 will have to move up to our high school team.
  17. How can I help or make a difference?  There are many ways that anyone can help.  Please visit our "Get Involved" page for this information.
